Channelling an effortless classiness & feminine sophistication into each one of her perfectly handcrafted pair of shoes (demonstrating the best of Venetian craftsmanship), Aruna‘s line-up of heels & boots boast of both the understated glamour & versatility the modern-day style connoisseur is looking for. Reflecting an eye for finesse & immaculate detailing, the designer label is our new ‘go-to’ for luxurious footwear.
Fascinated by the designer’s perfectly curated AW17 collection (all pieces imbibing the brand’s signature butterfly emblem), we sat down with Aruna to discuss her journey, her many sources of inspiration & all things autumn.
The Inspiration Behind Aruna Seth
Aruna: I grew up around shoes, as my father had a few shoe brands, so they are in my heritage. It was a very natural progression for me to start my own shoe company.
Aruna’s Many Sources of Inspiration
Aruna: Everything from a gorgeous sari I have seen in India to the architecture of a stunning building in NYC. Color blocking, textures and nature are other major sources of inspirations for me. I love to play with fabric and experiment with new fabrics in each and every collection – from the various lace types & brocade to satin.

The Impact of Social Media
Aruna: I think social media plays a large part in every brand’s journey at the moment. Our clients love the brand’s Instagram; from its content to its stories and will usually send us direct messages requesting information about the products and finally making a purchase through this platform. Other than its wide reach and audience, social media has been serving the brand as more or less an alternative platform to our online store.
The ‘Career-Defining’ Moment
Aruna: When Pippa Middleton wore my shoes to the royal wedding; we had lots of great press including an interview on the E! channel.

A Usual Day in Aruna’s Life
Aruna: Always very different, but today I started my day with calls from China and Hong Kong, then headed to the office. I had a meeting with our production team to schedule and follow up with our next deliveries, following that I met with the brand’s PR and discussed our next event. I then go to the gym and in the evening, I have dinner with a journalist and then off to bed!
