Turkish contemporary luxury label Boo Pala has been on our style radar for a while. Something that doesn’t come as a surprise when one has a look at the brand’s effortlessly beautiful designs & contemporary cool aesthetic (Honestly, is it even possible to find so much perfection in one collection?). For the upcoming AW18 season, Boo Pala has create a line-up of statement essentials titled ‘Lost in Translation’, focusing on unexpected surprises, much like its main source of inspiration – the quirky fashion stores of Brick Lane.

Intrigued by the designer’s individualistic & creative approach, we sat down with Boo Pala to discuss the brand’s design journey, the impact of social media & some insider tips. Read on to discover the highlights from our conversation.

The Boo Pala Brand Journey

 

Boo Pala: Boo Pala is a ready-to-wear brand aiming to push boundaries of colour, silhouette and textiles. Every collection is dedicated to different stories. The AW18 collection ‘Lost in Translation’ is dedicated to all the odds, contradictions and multi cultural vibrance of London. Whilst with SS18 ‘Symbols & Treasures ‘ collection, we are having a closer glance at our childhood, norms, sexuality and travels.

The Many Sources of Inspiration

 

Boo Pala:  I am a true art and music lover. I am fascinated by little details that create the bigger picture. I just recently got back from Premier Vision Paris to complete my fabric research for my next SS19 collection. I don’t want to give away any sneak peaks, but I am thinking to create a magical summery world for all the beautiful ladies out there! We will see a more lyrical and elegant side of me in my next collection.

 

The Impact of Social Media

 

Boo Pala: Social media has become a massive part of our lives. We are breathing in so much information and inspiration on a daily basis. The world has became much smaller by the fact that we are more connected via social media channels. I met so many wonderful people through Instagram that I ended up having creative collaborations with. Also, it is a great platform to connect truly with the Boo Pala women; they are my brand ambassadors. I am inspired by real, empowering women and interacting with them through social media is a great blessing.

A Usual Day with Team Boo Pala

 

Boo Pala: We are a small team but a big family! In our London office we are focusing on communication, design and creativity, where as in Istanbul our dreams become reality with our production team.

 

The Key Styling for Boo Pala Pieces

 

Boo Pala: Boo Pala designs  have one thing in common; they are easy-going and cool. In the design process,  I always keep in mind the practicality of each garment. I love lose-fit designs and the layering concept. I always wear my own designs just a season before they are released; it gives a feeling of what my customers would need next. 

 

At the moment, I am obsessed with Boo Pala AW18 collection trench raincoats and hoodies – love styling them together! Also there are two beautiful maxi dresses waiting for you ladies to turn all the eyes on you in your most special occasions; such as wedding and cocktail events.
