The art of creating the perfect accessory is a challenging one. The right amount of intricacies, detailing and craftsmanship is required. With luxury label, 13BC, you get all of this and more. Creating mastered pieces of art in the form of fashion, the label has quickly gained recognition as a pioneer in the accessory world. Intrigued by the brand’s journey, we sat down with its designer, Cherine Magrabi Tayeb, to discuss all things accessories and her journey.

The Journey Thus Far


Cherine: It all started when I had difficulty finding a high-quality clutch. That’s when I decided that I wanted to revive the fashion item – the Minaudière – that had been lost in translation for years, and make it relevant to today’s woman.

So far, it has been a very interesting journey, as working on reviving one of the most precious crafts, Enamel work, is today a rare ‘métier d’Art’, one which has been preserved only by a small handful and diminishing number of extremely skilled and highly specialised craftsmen.


The Many Sources of Inspiration


Cherine: 13BC is a brand where art and fashion are molded and crafted to walk a thin line between fashion accessories and collectible design pieces. Each piece is individually designed to be a timeless addition to a woman’s wardrobe.


A Usual Day with The Team


Cherine: No day is the same at the office, and that’s what makes it fun! Our creative team and production team are constantly challenging themselves to present newness where customer’s intrigue and desire are at the source of our work. Between responding to our customer demands, and following up on production to the very last detail, as well as the time spent researching trends and designing new collections… we certainly have our hands full!


The Impact of Social Media


Cherine: Being a luxurious & exclusive brand, it is very important for us to be able to have a unique relationship with each of our clients. Social media has certainly allowed us to create a bespoke language and a direct connection with our customers.


The Brand 5 Years From Now


Cherine: Ultimately, we want our clients to acquire our pieces throughout the years, resulting in 13BC pieces becoming collectible items, heirlooms that mothers will hand down to their daughters.

On a brand level, we plan on injecting ever-new models that continue to preserve our luxurious aesthetic, refined enamel craftsmanship, and our DNA built on exclusivity.
