A few months ago when we asked one of our favourite online shopping destinations, Coterique, to help us find some uber cool brands for the summer, we came across one designer who instantly became a favourite; Dina Shaker. After launching her eponymous label in 2011, Dina quickly became a ‘go-to’ label in the GCC region for timeless yet contemporary pieces. Incorporating a signature aesthetic of clean silhouettes & structured forms, with dramatic detailing (think asymmetrical frills and expert draping), Dina creates garments which resonate with the confident style connoisseur (someone who isn’t afraid to embrace her personality through fashion).

For SS17, Dina returns with a collection titled ‘The Romantic Utilitarian’. Inspired by amalgamating a fusion of different utility shapes & details, each piece in the collection demonstrates the contrasting nature of a soft, feminine aesthetic (represented by pretty frills, sheer fabrics & corseted silhouettes) with the more contemporary fashion of structured tailoring.
