Designers We Love: The Être Cécile SS18 Collection

The result? Some ‘must-have’ casual pieces that are equal parts fun and luxurious.

As you must know by now, we have a penchant for French style. That innate ‘cool’ sense of style is one of our main sources of inspiration for a put-together, yet relaxed everyday look. Être Cécile gives us pieces that help us achieve just that. Founded by Yasmin Sewell and Kyle Robinson, the brand has been on the list of labels we’ve been coveting for a while now.

The brand started out as a luxury t-shirt label, and now rolls out collections that combine classic casual wear, that exudes ease (perfectly imbibing the essence of French style), with a refined but quirky aesthetic. The result? Some ‘must-have’ casual pieces that are equal parts fun and luxurious.

For SS’18, Être Cécile plays with a (literally) fresh vibe, featuring fruit and beach inspired graphics branded onto classic white crewnecks. With fun quotes (‘Pomme D’Amour, ‘Bas Ass Barbados’) and imagery (bananas on the back of a t-shirt), or just a hoodie that reads ‘Fruits’, the collection completely captures the essence of ‘summer fun’. In line with their graphic style, pieces like the line drawn pup (in naval colours of white, red and blue) or the those with some fun quotes (a favourite: the black ’Hot Art’ hoodie), transform wardrobe basics into chic statement pieces. Another favourite piece from the collection is the blue and white pin striped button down, that adds a rock-and-roll quotient to an everyday staple.

With their latest collection, Être Cécile stays true to its style with some uber-cool graphic pieces & some absolute essentials that we’re excited to add to our ensembles for a quirky, chic and ‘cool’ SS’18 wardrobe.
