If you’ve been following Amanqi since the beginning of the year, then you must be knowing that there’s one particular contemporary luxury label which has been topping our sartorial wish lists for a few seasons now – Racil. Established by designer (& an expert in the ‘Le Smoking’ garment) Racil Chalhoub, each season the London-based label draws inspiration from an eclectic mix of muses to create versatile yet timeless collections, all working around the label’s signature ‘Le Smoking’ (the classic Parisian tuxedo jacket) silhouette.

 

This is one collection which infuses heritage with a renewed contemporary energy, to create the ultimate fall line-up (we might just have to buy more than one jacket this season).

 

For the upcoming AW17 season, Racil looks into English heritage, using the English & Scottish countryside as a source of inspiration for each one of her pieces. Amalgamating classic prints (think tartans, houndstooth & velvets) with a rich colour palette of aubergine, forest green & black, the collection, aptly titled ‘Tux Decadence‘, boasts of an old-school opulence & sartorial traditions.

Playing with the signature ‘Le Smoking’ silhouette, Racil has added a strong shoulder shape, to give the piece a more powerful & aristocratic appeal (we personally love the double breasted style). Combining the piece with bow-neck blouses (definitely a team favourite) & expertly tailored trousers, the garments in the collection work harmoniously to add to the decadent yet playful feel of the line-up.

 

The collection, aptly titled ‘Tux Decadence‘, boasts of an old-school opulence & sartorial traditions.

 

With the highlight pieces including the ‘Yorkshire’, ‘Oxford’ & ‘Cambridge’ jackets (we love the names), as well as the ‘Windsor’ duster coat, this is one collection which infuses heritage with a renewed contemporary energy, to create the ultimate fall line-up (we might just have to buy more than one jacket this season).
