Another one of our late-night scrolling finds, London-based contemporary luxury label Emilio de la Morena, is redefining modern womenswear as we know it. Debuting in 2007 to much applaud & acclaim, the eponymous label was an instant winner of the much prized ‘New Generation Award’. With an educational background in fashion design (Emilio is an alumni of the reputed London College of Fashion) & an eye for immaculate detail, the designer was able to translate his heritage & experiences into ready-to-wear pieces with luxurious textiles.
Drawing inspiration from Spanish artisanal work & the local aesthetic of London, Emilio began to use striking fabrics (think matte silks & wools with embellished detailing) & innovative silhouettes (a reflection of his sculptural background), which resulted in fresh & versatile garments. Ensuring every aspect of the brand from the fit & design to the textiles is perfect, the label became a ‘go-to’ name for sartorial perfection.

Aiming to create pieces that positively impact the intellectual feeling of wearing the piece (after all, we have to feel good in our clothes), Emilio‘s AW17 collection takes a more playful direction. Amalgamating his Spanish heritage & experiences from life in London, each one of the new season pieces incorporate exuberance from the Spanish culture, as well as references to classic British tailoring. From precisely tailored jackets (a statement classic) to dresses which accentuate the figure (imbibing the brand’s signature sensuality), the silhouettes are elegant yet never leave the youthful undertone.
