Empties

A great look starts with great skin. That’s why it is essential to take good care of your skin and invest in skin care products that are actually worthy of your skin. Having said that, it is equally important to know your skin type before buying any product. I personally have a combination skin type. My ‘T-Zones’, which includes my forehead and chin, are shiny as they has more active oil glands than the other parts of my face like my cheeks. This means that I have to deal with both dry-normal and oily skin. Therefore, finding a perfect skincare regimen for my skin type means finding skin care products that are strong enough to exfoliate but at the same mild enough to not cause any irritation.

Another thing about skin care regimen is that you cannot use the same products throughout the year. It has to change with the changing season. Indeed winter has its own charm but the harsh weather can cause havoc on your skin; making it dry and sensitive. I am sure that to protect your bodies from the cold you are probably stocking up on fur coats, beanies and boots, but what about your skin? Which skin care product is comparable to a nice Ted Baker coat?

Read on to find out about the best products to cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise your skin this winter season, to give you the ultimate beauty glow you deserve.</>

1) Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel

Cleansing is the first step of any skin care regimen and it is very important for maintaining clear skin, boosting hydration and increasing the effectiveness of any other product that you are going to put on your skin. Basically, the first step to achieve healthy skin is to cleanse it every day without fail. While the beauty industry is bombarded with different types of cleansers, you should be very careful in making your choice as a lot of these products come with chemicals that are harsh for your skin. Having said that, my cult cleanser is Oskia’s ‘Renaissance Cleansing Gel’ that contains Vitamins A, C & E, Omega 6, starflower oil, pumpkin enzymes, chamomile & rose. It is literally the holy grail of cleansers. With its gel consistency that later turns into oil, it melts into your skin, removing all the dirt and giving you a nourished, glowing and clean look. This cleanser which is wonderfully rich in vitamins and enzymes is suitable for all skin types and is even effective on acne scars.

2) Origins Retexturising Mask with Rose Clay

Face masks are the most fun part of any skincare regimen. It is a long term commitment that you make for the betterment of your skin because well, eating healthy is just not enough. Your skin needs this extra pampering to maintain its glow. I personally love this ‘Rose Clay’ mask by Origins because of three reasons – number one, it is super easy to use, two, it is multipurpose and finally, it actually deliver results. This mask is a unique combination of Mediterranean Rose Clay, Canadian Willow Herb and exfoliating Jojoba beads. This two in one mask helps to gently clean your skin along with providing mild exfoliation to refine skin texture. The end result? Bright, glowing and hydrated skin.

3) The Ordinary Vitamin C

As an effective antioxidant, the benefits of Vitamin C are numerous. It promotes collagen production, maintains the youthfulness of skin, speeds up the healing process of acne scars and improves hydration therefore creating brighter and healthier skin. The Ordinary’s Vitamin C (ascorbyl glucoside solution 12%) is a must in my night time skin care routine. I love it because of its easy application and the way it penetrates through my skin. It is really comfortable on my skin and in the morning my skin feels soft and hydrated. This product is on the top of my beauty shelf for my winter skin care regimen.

4) Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Cream

Hydration is the key ingredient for smooth and glowing skin, and by hydration I do not mean rich creams with thick consistency, that only provide an instant effect because your skin needs something to hold onto. I’m talking about hydration through the day. Clinique’s ‘Moisture Surge’ does exactly that.

It is a light, refreshing gel cream that has activated aloe water which helps skin create its own internal water source, therefore providing immediate, as well as long-term hydration. The best part? It is suitable for all skin types.
