Q: Earrings or bracelets: which is more enjoyable to design?

A: It is not so much about the type of jewelry but rather the concept and inspiration behind it. Whether it’s an earring, necklace, bracelet, or pendant, the design and how it aligns with the inspiration is what matters most to me. Sometimes, the inspiration lends itself more to a bracelet or ring. I cannot definitively say that one specific piece holds precedence over another.

Q: What was the first piece of jewelry you ever made?

A: The first piece I created was a 5-carat diamond ring. Initially, I was trading in gemstones and diamonds before becoming a jeweler. A client had purchased the diamond and, a year later, returned to ask if I could craft it into a ring for her. That marked the beginning of my journey into jewelry design.

Q: Do you prefer listening to inspirational music or working in serene silence?

A: It depends on my mood. I love classical and jazz music, but silence can also be music to my ears at times.

Q: Which gemstone cut do you prefer: round, emerald, or marquise?

A: Once again, it depends on the design. I adore all cuts, even the rare ones, as they each offer something unique.

Q: Your dream collaboration: a living or historical figure?

A: That is an intriguing question. Our company, Hashi, values collaboration for the impact it can have on society and business. While market position is important, we prioritize the idea and potential influence of the collaboration over specific individuals or figures.

Q: Engraving or filigree: which intricate detail do you prefer?

A: I am particularly fond of engravings.

Q: If your jewelry were a destination, where would it be?

A: Dubai and Italy

Q: Which jewelry-making technique excites you the most?

A: We have always been manufacturers, and I have mastered many techniques from the beginning. We possess a full design house, complete with a sketching team, designers, and 3D modelers, ensuring that our creations are made with the utmost precision and care.

Q: What is the most exotic place that has inspired your designs?

A: Of course Dubai is always a top inspiration for me, Italy, with its rich art and history, is a close second.

A: Do you prefer creating personalized or ready-to-wear pieces?

A: I enjoy ready-to-wear pieces because, for a moment, they can feel personalized. Each piece tells a story, capturing a mood or style.

Q: What is your signature design element or motif?

A: We often incorporate a square box motif in a 3D way. It has been a significant element in our designs.

Q: A must-have accessory, other than jewelry, for your ideal outfit?

A: I have a unique look that often stands out. I rarely carry bags unless necessary, such as for dinners or formal occasions, where a clutch suffices. My jewelry, however, always remains a must-have accessory.

Q: What is the best jewelry tip you have ever received or given?

A: Avoid over-stacking pieces. A chic and simple approach is always best. I prefer not to overlap bracelets, rings, and chains excessively.

Q: One word to describe the feeling you want your wearers to experience?

A: Dream.

Q: Future trends in jewelry design that excite you?

A: I am not particularly enthusiastic about trends; I prefer styles. While enamelling has made a return, I do not consider it a part of fine jewelry. Although it has historical significance, I prefer using semi-precious stones in my work.
