If there’s one thing you need to know about Team Amanqi, it’s that although we absolutely love food, we’re also quite the fitness enthusiasts. Whether it’s a great workout spot or a fabulous smoothie, health & wellness gets us very excited. Thus, we decided to sit down with our editors and ask them about their favourite workout places (both in London & Dubai) & smoothie recipes. Read on & get a sneak peak into our editor’s fitness favourites.

Favourite Workout: Reformer bed pilates – it stretches you out and works every part of your body! I haven’t enjoyed a class more than this and you really challenge yourself. I feel a lot stronger since starting pilates and can’t wait to keep going. There are different levels for each class, and if you haven’t tried it before I really recommend it!

Favourite Smoothie: Peanut Butter Date Smoothie – 1 cup almond milk (or other milk of your choice), 1 frozen banana, 2 tablespoons smooth peanut butter, 4-5 pitted dates, 1/4 cup of ice – BLEND WELL! To make it thinner, add more milk. This smoothie is perfect post work out or even as breakfast on the go!

Favourite Workout: My favourite workout is the Dynamic Pilates class at Heartcore London. Think Pilates, but with extra bite. Movements are still precise and controlled but Dynamic Pilates links moves into a smooth, continuous flow. I enjoy this workout the most, as it’s an effective full body sculpting workout and helps pull your body backs into alignment.

Favourite Smoothie: The ‘Lean Green’ smoothie from, my girl, Laylaalnaif’s ’99& Plant Based’ E-book is my go-to to keep me full and energized throughout my day. I like to have this smoothie after a morning workout as it packs great protein from plant-derived sources such as almond butter, flaxseeds and hempseeds!

Favourite Workout: Running in the park. It always helps to clear my mind and makes me feel more energised and motivated.

Favourite Smoothie: Mango, Spinach, Banana, Blueberries, fresh orange juice and spirulina powder. It’s filling and delicious.

Favourite Workout: HITT pilates.

Favourite Smoothie: Mango berry with bananas.

Favourite Workout: My go to workout on a rough day is always spinning. It truly is the best stress reliever, it’s just me, the bike and willpower.

Favourite Smoothie: My go-to smoothie recipe is always half a cup of frozen banana’s, a handful of spinach, a teaspoon of chia powder and a cup of fresh Skyr Icelandic yogurt. I love this for breakfast.

Favourite Workout: I am some who get really intimidated by group workout classes! I love going to the gym and working out in my own time doing my own thing. These days I find myself doing lots of HIIT workouts and I love it! I have the Kayla Fitness workout guide but honestly Instagram fitspo is where I turn to to find new workout ideas!

Favourite Smoothie: I’ve been making the same breakfast smoothie since high school so yummy and keeps you feeling full all day!! 1 banana, half a cup of strawberries and blueberries, a cup of kale, a splash or orange juice and I like to add a teaspoon of chia seeds!

Favourite Workout: Anything involving working the legs – squats, donkey kicks etc.

Favourite Smoothie: Strawberry banana almond milk and protein powder.

Favourite Workout: Circuit Training – I enjoy high intensity circuit training at the gym with my personal trainer. It is energising and my body responds very well to it.

Favourite Smoothie: Triberry Smoothie – 1 cup of mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries & strawberries), 2 Tbsp Greek Youghurt, 1/2 cup water & Voila!
A quick blend of your daily dose of antioxidants and proteins.

Favourite Workout: Russian Twists, Push-ups – well this has always been by focal workout at the gym! My goal is to improve my core strength.

Favourite Smoothie: My go to is banana-strawberry smoothie – I love the taste, I prefer sweet over citrus.

Favourite Workout: I’m definitely someone who prefers cardio over weight training so the treadmill has to be my go-to when in Dubai, while in London I’ve tried a few spinning classes at Psycle & am now hooked!

Favourite Smoothie: I personally am not a big fan of smoothies, so my favourite drink which is the closest alternative would have to be the Coffee Shake at Joe & the Juice.

Favourite Workout: Running, especially by the River Thames, has that energising and relaxing element to it at the same time. It is also one of the best ways I have found to explore this beautiful city I now call home.

Favourite Smoothie:  2 handfuls of baby spinach, 1/2 banana, 1/2 green apple, 1 handful berries (whichever I have on hand),  3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1/4 tbsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp ginger for a little zing. I add 3-4 ice cubes towards the end and roughly blend in for that slush-like texture.

Favourite Workout: When I’m in Dubai, I love Physique57, and when I’m in London, Barry’s Bootcamp, Core Collective, BXR and Psycle.

Favourite Smoothie: My favourite smoothies have to be Power Shake at Joe and the Juice & ABJ at Barry’s Bootcamp.
