The M Project: Your New Favourite E-Store

For those of our readers who have been following us since the beginning of the Amanqi journey, it comes as no surprise that we’re absolutely in love with The M Project (Who wouldn’t be?). Founded by two talented & equally stylish sisters, The M Project was established as the first Saudi fashion e-commerce platform. However, today it boasts of a prominent global following, serving as the ‘must-visit’ online shopping destinations for style connoisseurs everywhere (with brands like L’Afshar, Rejina Pyo & A.WA.K.E, it’s hard not to obsesses over the carefully curated selections).
Intrigued by this incredible shopping destination, we sat down with sisters & The M Project founders Fatma & Nouf to discover all things M Project, fashion & the plan for 2018.

The M Project Journey

The M Project Team: We were the first ever Saudi e-commerce platform dedicated to womenswear, accessories & lifestyle products and across many of our brands [Marques Almeida, Y Project, AWAKE, LoQ] The M Project has been the first Middle Eastern / Saudi Arabian stockist.
We both almost oversee all aspects of the business together – it’s a partnership and we are both invested in understanding how all aspects of our company runs, learning whatever we can to grow year on year. However, when it comes to logistics / operations, Fatma is in charge, while Nouf hones in on branding and design.
Our favourite aspect of The M Project is the buying process. We have such different styles and tastes but it’s such an experience and journey to meet designers, their teams and pull together an edit that feels uniquely us.

How It All Started

The M Project Team: Our aim with the M Project is to create an international platform which focuses on challenging, changing and developing approaches to fashion in the Middle East. We noticed that so many of our contemporaries are hungry for new brands & trends popping up in Europe, Asia & the Americas but either don’t have access or can’t fully reimagine these statement collections into their everyday life. We decided that The M Project would be that hub for directional yet wearable designs, bringing together new ideas and approaches to fashion, art and beyond.

The Vision for 2018

The M Project Team: At the moment our biggest project for 2018 is the relaunch of The M Project website; working on the layout, new collaborations with a series of creatives + brands and a larger editorial offering. Since we launched, we noticed that our customers have been very responsive to our styling + editorials, often buying looks rather than individual pieces. With this in mind, our new platform will have a more refined buy which focuses more on creating stories and offerings that our customers can more fully engage with.
In addition to this, we are also working on a series of pop ups & store collaborations in Jeddah with both Saudi & International brands, so keep your eye on our social media & sign up to the newsletters to stay in the loop!
