When Ava Hashemi first started her label, House of Hashe, she began with exclusive, custom-made clutches, that had individualistic geometric shapes, bedazzled with stones, studs, and brooches (you know we love a statement bag). Since its inception in 2010, the label has grown to also carry a ready-to-wear women’s line and even hats.
The collection, called ‘Un Happy Ending’, draws inspiration from the irony that follows when the end of a war, or a ceasefire, is deemed a ‘happy ending’.
In her previous seasons, Ava has created collections that touch upon paradoxes; for Autumn/Winter 2016, she designed a collection inspired by the colour red (without ever using the shade). House of Hashe’s intriguing themes had us eagerly awaiting their latest collection (and we were not disappointed).
For Autumn/Winter 2017, the label touches on a more intense paradoxical concept. The collection, called ‘Un Happy Ending’, draws inspiration from the irony that follows when the end of a war, or a ceasefire, is deemed a ‘happy ending’. Featuring co-ordinated ensembles of crop-tops paired with slouchy-pants, a crisp tailored piece in a stunning midnight blue, a more delicate, embroidered piece in pastel pink, and sophisticated jackets and trousers (definitely the in-trend staple), Ava ensures her line-up has something for everyone. For the edgier style connoisseurs, House of Hashe’s collection this season offers a sheer top with velvet detailing (which we absolutely love).

In spite of the use of sombre, and even monochromatic colours, to bring across the melancholia of the irony of Ava’s chosen concept, there isn’t a dull garment in the designer’s latest collection, with each individual piece being as cheerful as an autumn day.
