New-York based sneaker label, The Nou Project, is the latest addition to our sneaker collection.
It’s no secret that Team Amanqi are a group of sneaker lovers (we’ve honestly completely integrated into the sneaker culture which has taken over the fashion scene), thus we’re always more than ecstatic to discover any new sneaker brands which we can add to our ever-growing collection (we’ve lost count of how many pairs we own). New-York based sneaker label, The Nou Project, is the latest addition to our collection.

Founded by Saudi-born Nour Al Tamimi with co-designer Lebanese-born Basma Chidiac, The Nou Project started of as an initiative to tap into the sneaker scene, all whilst encouraging up-&-coming art talent. Incorporating classic sneaker silhouettes, each piece in The Nou Project integrates a design (the creative styles vary from street art to digital manipulation to the vibrant pop art) by a new, emerging artist. The result? A line-up of sneakers (available in classic low-top & high-top silhouettes), which mirror the likes of wearable art.

The label’s first collection brought to the limelight three emerging global artists, Nydia Lilian from Mexico, James Rawson from the UK and Rex Chouk from Saudi Arabia, all of whom have incredible talent & a distinctive stylised technique. Adding each of their respective artistic flairs to the grained leather surface (mirroring an artist’s blank canvas), the sneakers are not only vibrant & versatile, but truly unique (We are obsessed with Nydia Lilian’s ‘Criss Cross’ model!).

Complete with a sustainable sole, The Nou Project is definitely one sneaker label which is on our brand radar (& should be on yours too).
